February 7th

Alot has gone on since last update. All enclosed in now and windows and the new door is in (except for the front window, which will have to be moved over a little - Charles is not going to be happy with me).. I sanded and stained the new front door twice over the weekend (which took forever!) and I still have one more coat to go! Today we worked on the tub deck (total pain). Allen came by yesterday and gave us some more ideas on finishing the house. He sure has a lot of great ideas! We're very lucky to have him! Electrician should be here early this week and I am not ready! UGH!

February 2nd

Today they worked on framing the back porch and taking out the drywall on the front wall. They got alot done. Turns out we have (2) doors on the back porch and I didn't even know it! Steven came by today and will start plumbing in the next day or so. Yeah!!!

January 29th - They reconstructed the ceiling in the new kitchen area. Allen had the idea to "pop up" the center of the area, so it is around 12" taller and gives it some interest! They put the windows in this area too and made the roof joists over the new bathroom and additional space in the bedroom. Bryan contributed today and pull off some more drywall in the hall and he finished taking down the old mantel yesterday.

January 27

Concrete went in and looks great!! Got some walls up (after we had them move windows a couple times in the kitchen - oops!) and things are getting exciting!!!

Thursday and Friday - 14th & 15th

Lots going on...the carport (aka new kitchen) got formed and plumbing roughed...new center wall... now the hold up will be the weather (really cold) and plumbing inspection will more than likely be delayed until Tuesday because of Monday's Holiday. Should be warm enough for concrete by then..Hopefully!!!

Friday - January 2nd

Just a couple pictures of the rooms emptied....
Saturday - January 3rd

Here comes equipment!! Dean and Allen brought in the backhoe and carefully maneuvered it into the back yard. Brooke wants to drive it! That's a big fat NO! haha

Renovation - Day 1

Monday - January 5, 2009
What a way to start the New Year!!! Just a couple things left in the house and that is good, because we've already lost part of a wall and the dining room and kitchen have been demolished. We thought we could get away with not cleaning out all of the attic, but we were wrong! So now we're
renting a POD to put all of it in as we have the house across the street filled to capacity!
